Who wouldn't love the look of walnut with slate. It's like peanut butter and jelly. The slate we use is repurposed from an old barn roof.  The slate gives you more flexibility if you want to serve something hot. Some people will chill their boards as the slate will retain the cold for serving cheese. Cold or hot your food is going to look better on this board.
